Song for Edith
Oh my god. We made it to the end. I acually ran out of categories because the person whose 30 Day Music Challenge I was following skipped a day by accident. So I figured this would be a good start for the baby mix that I will no-doubt create when Edith comes along.
Wendy!
Kent!
Chuck - you are on your own. I don't know the names of any of those songs either.
If you're looking for suggestions, Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots was a huge hit with both my kids. And it's a girl power song.
ReplyDeleteOr if you're looking for a parent song, rather than a kid of parents song, I think Sympathy by Sleater Kinney is the best motherhood song out there.
ReplyDeleteBoy in the Bubble by Paul Simon. The future will be terrible, might as well get her used to it with a catchy song.
ReplyDeleteMy selection would be one of the bouncier Edith Piaf numbers. I can't think of any titles, but maybe you can.
ReplyDeleteWhat about Honour Your Mother & Father by Desmond Dekker? Get her in line nice and early. It's the law of the prophets.
ReplyDeleteI feel bad because I haven't picked a song for Edith yet.
ReplyDeleteI am already a bad mother.
I decided to listen to M Ward on shuffle today and see what song I liked for Edie.
ReplyDeleteI liked a lot of M Ward songs because they all sound like sweet lullabies to me.
I am going to go with Ella though because this one mentions the word lullaby :)
Chelsey, this morning I thought of you when I heard Mr. Little Jeans's cover of The Suburbs. Nice talk of having a daughter to show some beauty to before everything goes to hell in a handbasket. Good stuff!
